Spot Me ID™ is “spotted” in the Orlando Sentinel
http://www.orlandosentinel.com
Local mom creates ID tags that help reunite lost children with parents at theme parks
Jamie Rayko was visiting Orlando in 2007 when her 7-year-old daughter became separated from the group during a trip to a theme park.
Her daughter found a park employee to help her, but in the panic of the moment, she couldn't remember her mother's cell-phone number. There was no way for the employee to call Rayko to tell her that her daughter was safe.
"It was just an absolute horrifying experience," said Rayko, a mother of three.
The family was eventually reunited — and that terrible experience spawned a business.
Rayko, who now lives with her family in Celebration, the Disney-built community in Osceola County, has created a line of lanyards, bracelets and temporary tattoos for children to wear when visiting large, busy venues such as theme parks or sporting events.
What she's selling, she says, is peace of mind. Priced at about $8, the Spot Me ID comes with a permanent marker, so parents can write a contact phone number on the identification tag in case the child gets separated from the family.
"You really can't tell a 3-year-old to find a meeting place in Disneyland," Rayko said. "Everybody has a cell phone. It's simple. And it works."
The products are illustrated with a cartoon dog, Spot, drawn in various situations, such as riding a roller coaster, at the beach and playing football.
Rayko said the goal was to create something fun that children would want to wear.
The Spot Me ID recently got a big break when Universal Studios starting stocking it. Rayko said her creations are located right where most parents head first when they arrive at the theme park: guest relations, near the stroller rental.
A spokesman for Universal Studios confirmed the park carries the product, though the company does not comment on its vendor relationships.
Since its launch in September at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas, the Spot Me ID has received several accolades, including being chosen best new product in merchandise by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
Rayko said the product is already on sale at several smaller attractions, and she is planning to hire a sales force to promote Spot Me ID across the country.
And she is already getting feedback from satisfied customers who report the product worked as planned.
"There's nothing more important to a parent than just peace of mind," Rayko said.

Jamie’s Precious Peas says “Spot Me ID is well worth the investment.”
http://preciouspeas.blogspot.com
Spot Me ID’s motto is "Because Kids Get Lost." Whether we like to admit it or not - the statement is true and it happens multiple (try 2,000) times on a daily basis.
We may not be able to prevent it, but there are steps we can take to help us find our children (or them to find us) quicker. Spot Me ID has created three great child identification products. My favorites are definitely the lanyards and bracelets. They also carry tattoos. The products are reusable (obviously not the tattoos). Each product comes with a travel size permanent marker to write your name and cell phone number on the products. Prices start at $7.95 and definitely worth the investment.

HAVE A SAFE TRIP… REALLY By Paul Eisenberg
http://www.foxnews.com
When traveling with kids, Blair notes how all-too-easy it is to lose track of one of them. As a father of three I’ll admit to losing one temporarily, which even for a few seconds in a hotel gift shop is not the kind of life-changing experience you ever hope to have. A good precaution on the road, Blair says, is having your child wear an ID tag with pertinent information. You can fashion the tag yourself, or get it from a company like Spot Me ID, which not only makes ID lanyards and bracelets for kids, but also manufactures temporary tattoos that once affixed to your child’s skin, allows parents to write in whatever they choose – phone numbers, emergency care information, or perhaps the statement, “My dad is usually a much better parent than this.”

“What a great idea - especially for toddlers who can be off in an instant or where you will be in a crowd.” Jaimie Hall Bruzenak
Ever lost a kid?
Have you ever lost your child or grandchild? It is a scary experience. Now there’s a new product, Spot Me ID™.
Spot Me ID makes safety products to help reunite children with their caregivers. At campgrounds, amusement parks, games or shopping - any place where there are crowds or you could get separated - the child wears a lanyard, bracelet or temporary tattoo with your cell phone number on it. If they become separated, another adult can easily contact you. While it doesn't mean you can turn a child loose without supervision, a leash isn't necessary either.
The lanyards and bracelets are animated so they are fun to wear. The character is a cute spotted dog in various scenes, based on the theme you choose. The tattoos are waterproof and last several days.

CELEBRATION, Fla. – Losing a child in a crowded place is every parent’s nightmare. When mom of three, Jamie Rayko lost sight of her then seven-year-old daughter during a 2007 trip at an amusement park, she was terrified. After being reunited, Rayko wanted to assure that her family was never in that situation again.
From her helplessness, Spot Me ID, a line of recognizable bracelets, lanyards and temporary tattoos that are emblazoned with the attending parent or guardian’s cell phone number, was launched a year later.
“There are so many overwhelming and crowded public places where children can become separated from their parents,” states Rayko. “From amusement parks, campgrounds and sporting events to airports and malls, families are in a position of potential separation on an almost daily basis. I wanted to create a product that would re-connect lost children quickly without jeopardizing safety.”
As a pioneer for children’s safety, Rayko was put off by the leashes that were available so parents would not get separated from toddlers, giving them very little freedom. Identification cards with personal information were sometimes effective, but they are cumbersome to pin on clothing and could get easily lost if put in a child’s pocket. Additionally if they got wet, the information was lost.
Rayko realized parents and children needed something that was lightweight, easy to wear and waterproof. She envisioned bracelets, lanyards and temporary tattoos that would be fun for children to wear and ideal for the peace of mind of the parent, with only a cell phone number written on them in permanent marker, so the products could be discreet, containing little information.
The product and concept is simple. Parents use the Spot Me ID waterproof permanent marker to write their cell phone number and name on these easy-to-recognize safety products. Rayko emphasizes her product line is effective without being frightening. “We don’t want to scare children into thinking they are definitely going to get lost. We created a product that will protect them just in case,” says Rayko. They can be worn at amusement parks, water parks, stadiums, on field trips, at the playground, zoos, museums, malls, carnivals and fairs- virtually anywhere a small child could get lost in a crowd.
Parents agree as the demand for the product increases. Dr. Dawn Knapek, of Perry, Ga., says, "We took out 2- and 4-year old daughters to Walt Disney World last month, and used the ID Tattoos. The kids were happy to wear them and while we fortunately didn't lose a child, it certainly gave us peace of mind in such a crowded location.” Rhonda Tedeski adds, “My three-year-old grandson wouldn’t take his lanyard off after a day at Disney World. We explained to him the concept and I think that gave him a sense of security. It was wonderful for me as well; I felt like if anything happened the ID was there for us to help and make everything easier.”
Spot Me ID products are suitable for children ages one to 10. The cartoonish bracelets and lanyards feature an animated dog named Spot, who winks, wags his tail, and waves. The temporary tattoos depict a Spot the dog with an area to write in a cell phone number and parent’s name. They are non-toxic, FDA approved, and will last days even when wet.

Spot Me ID is featured on An Island Review
March 23, 2009 by Kailani…
http://islandlife808.com
We’ve been pretty lucky in that my girls usually stay put whenever we go out. However, that doesn’t mean that they couldn’t just bolt one day and leave me frantically searching for them. Luckily, Girlie Girl knows my cell phone number and could probably get someone to call me to locate her. Baby Bug is another story . . . she can barely say her name! That’s why I was so interested in finding out more about Spot Me ID.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Spot Me ID is a temporary identification product available to parents. With our animated ID bracelets, ID lanyards, and temporary tattoos, you will have peace of mind knowing your child is safer in crowded public places. Simply write your name and cell phone number on these easy to recognize safety products.
MY REVIEW
This past weekend our family attended a local community event. I was really surprised at how crowded it was because of the overcast weather. I realized that this would be the perfect opportunity to try out our Spot Me Id products. I gave Girlie Girl the ID Lanyard and Baby Bug the ID Bracelet. As a backup, I also used the ID Tattoos on both of them.
What we really liked about Spot Me ID is their cute design and adorable dalmatian logo. It didn’t look like some sterile boring product that my girls would probably instantly take off. They loved the “funess” of it and wore it all day.
However, the best part is the piece of mind it brought me. On each of these items, we wrote down our names and cell phone numbers - just in case. And even if my girls forgot to tell an adult where they could find our contact information, just one look at these products and you’d instantly know what it was there for.
So the next time you’re headed to the amusement park, zoo, beach, stadium, or to the shopping mall, take along some reassurance by using Spot Me ID. Believe me, if it ever came down to it you’ll be glad you did.

The Boutique Café Recommends Spot Me ID
http://www.boutiquecafe.com
March 18th, 2009
Today’s review is just in time for spring break. No, it’s not a list of the Top 10 Most Crowded Amusement Parks, though it does have to do with highly visited vacation spots. When you combine thousands of families and umpteen thousand kids with places like Disneyland, Sea World or the Mall of America (um, guess that’s my idea of a vacation and not my family’s…sorry), you often get a lost child or two. And when lost and most likely frightened, many of these children aren’t going to remember that designated meeting spot you all agreed on when you entered the happiest place on earth. So what’s a parent to do other than strap on one of those child-friendly harnesses?
Spot Me ID™ has come up with what I think is a fabulous solution because it is perfect for children of all ages, including my 11-year-old and 3-year-old. Spot Me ID has designed a line of identification products that believe it or not, your kids won’t mind wearing. The line consists of ID bracelets, ID lanyards and temporary tattoos all animated with the company’s mascot, Spot Me the safety dog. With themes ranging from amusement parks to sports to the zoo, Spot Me ID has come up with a fun way to help reunite lost parents with their children. |

The Spot Me ID Bracelet provides a little added security for outings at busy amusement parks, the park, the mall…anywhere there’s bound to be a crowd. I used to type up little ID cards, laminate them and keep them tucked in my children’s pockets. When they would ask me why, I told them that if they became lost they might be so upset that they wouldn’t be able to give all the helpful information. There’s enough space on each ID bracelet to write in your child’s name and your cell phone number.
No one likes to think about their child getting into a situation where they’ve wandered off in a crowd, but a little extra prevention will be worth the extra peace of mind. Visit www.spotmeid.com to purchase a set of 2 Reusable and Waterproof Spot Me ID Bracelets for just $7.95 (marker included).

09/26/2008, Spot Me ID receives Traveling Mamas’ On The Move Approved Seal….

ON THE MOVE APPROVED: SPOT ME ID
http://travelingmamas.com/2008/09/26/on-the-move-approved-spot-me-id/
By DesertMama | September 26, 2008
If you have ever lost a child in public, raise your hand.
Yes, my hand is raised and I can tell you now, having a lost child was one of my most horrific motherhood moments. When I am out in public with my children I rarely enjoy myself. My eyes are constantly on them and, as many of you know, I have had to resort back to the double stroller when I am by myself because I have not one but two “runners” who will bolt from my hand the moment the slightest thing piques their interest - and if they do get lost they’re not old enough to carry their own phone or know my cell phone number.
What is a parent to do?
After all, over 2,000 kids get “lost” every day and they’re not all “runners” like mine.
Sure, I’ve seen kids with a “My Name Is” sticker on their back and their parent’s cell phone number written on it, but I’ve also seen those same stickers stuck on bathroom floors and on the bottom of amusement park-goers shoes. Aside from stuffing my business cards in my kids’ pockets, which I normally do, I knew there had to be another answer - and there is.
When I heard about Spot Me ID, I became completely enthralled - “the answer” has arrived!
Spot Me ID offers a variety of children’s IDs with five “series” of themed lanyards and bracelets: Everyday, Zoo, Football, Amusement Park and Water Park. The lanyard’s hook-on card and adjustable bracelet allow you to write your name, number and any other information you deem important for temporary care of your child, such as allergies or “please ask for parent’s id.”
For those parents with little ones who refuse to “wear” anything, the third item is genius - it’s called Safety ID Temporary Tattoo. Simply use the application wipe to apply the temporary tattoo, let it dry, then with the included travel size marker write your emergency contact number.
These ID’s are perfect for airports, ski slopes, amusement parks, shopping malls, beaches and even massive family reunions where family is just meeting for the first time. The best part for our family is that the kids love them, too. I still watch my kids like a hawk when we’re out but I feel better knowing that if we get separated my cell number is with my children.
Therefore, today Spot Me ID receives our Traveling Mamas’ On The Move Approved Seal.
