Spot Me ID - Award Winning Products

1. Is it dangerous to put contact information on my child?

You may have heard the myth that it is not safe to put your child’s contact information where it is visible to strangers. Some experts believe that by having the child’s name visible, a predator could use that information against them in order to make the child feel safe, like they know their family. From the reported 1.3 million lost and missing children last year, there are only about 100 traditional kidnappings from non-family members.

Spot Me ID™ agrees with the experts. We do not recommend you putting your child’s information on any of our products. We recommend you putting the parents contact information on our products. By providing the authorities with a parents name and cell phone number, this will be very helpful to insure a quick reunion.

2. What is the purpose of Spot Me ID™ child id products?

Spot Me ID™ is a line of childrens temporary identification products that will help parents reunite with their child if they become separated in a crowded public place. The products are very inexpensive and should be a necessity when you are out in public with your family. Most of the products are reusable and the kids love them! This is a great alternative to a child harness or child leash.

3. Where should I use Spot Me ID™?

Spot Me ID™ products are great for use in theme parks, water parks, zoos, sports stadiums, shopping malls, airports, beaches, cruise ships, family vacations, school field trips, just about any casual family outing. The uses are endless…..

4. I have heard to tell my kids to pick a designated place to meet if we become separated. Is this a good idea?

When children become lost and scared, they cannot remember or they cannot find the designated meeting place. Once a child realizes that they are lost, they have difficulty remembering even basic information such as a cell phone number. This can happen to a child as old as 10. While there is no substitute of the supervision of a parent, the best thing you can do is to prepare your child a safe way to reach you if they become lost.

5. What are some other factors in insuring a quick reunion if I lose my child?

Always carry a recent photo of your children. If you are going to a public place like a theme park, take a picture of your child that morning. With the technology of digital cameras, you will have a very accurate description of your child. What they are wearing, eye color, hair color, weight, height and any other distinguishing marks. This can be a big help in ensuring a quick reunion. We also recommend dressing your children in bright and unique clothing

6. What do I do if I become separated from my child?

Most public places like a theme park, airport, or zoo have a very specific procedure in place when a child goes missing. The best thing you can do is remain calm and quickly find an onsite employee or authority to start their specific lost child procedures. They will give you directions on what the proper procedures are.

7. What to tell your child to do if they become lost?

If your child becomes lost, teach them to find the nearest employee. If they don’t see any employees close by, then they should go to another mommy for help. Tell your child to show “Spot Me ID™” to that employee and ask for help. Don’t forget to remind your child of what to do when entering a public place, and make sure your cell phone is charged and turned on.
